Udgivet af Lutheranere i USA. Meget anerkendt blandt lutheranere.

A fair number of people do try to turn Amos into a discourse on social justice. Which to be fair, is easy to do as he regularly points out how evilly people have treated the poor, orphaned, and the widowed. However, treating Amos as Social justice is only a cursory reading. Dr. Lessing picks up that the social injustices are the symptoms of the greater problem and that is sin and that the only cure is the restoration of Israel by the son of David.

Dr. R. Reed Lessing is Professor of Exegetical Theology and director of the graduate school at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri. He studied at St. John s College, Winfield, Kansas (B.A.), and Concordia Seminary (M. Div., S.T.M., Ph.D.). He has also served as a parish pastor.
