Stand: Helt ny - uåbnet/med prismærke
After a longer break from fine art creation, this is a come-back piece. I started wanting to try out pouring techniques. The idea of inspiration was the Yin & Yang symbol. Shortly into the process, the colours began to flow with each other, displaying trinity instead of duality, gaining depth, and revealing another dimension. Hence the name – Ocean Current. An abstract idea became something pulsating with life.
The process took me 5 hours and was so physically exhilarating that for the next couple of days I couldn't make a step without feeling pain in my legs. My back hurt from leaning over, tilting and moving the painting on the floor. I went through many layers of frustration, thinking that I just destroyed an already finished piece. But at the end of the process, I started feeling at peace rather than frustrated – this is when I knew the painting was done. Like the ocean roaring with its fierce and unrestrained power, only then to surprise us with its absolute stillness and calm.
It is a 60x80 cm acrylic on canvas finished with glossy varnish. Pick up in 2660 Brøndby Strand.
