Beskrivelse
Stol, Elm, år gl. 125, A handsome antique Victorian smokers bow chair / captains desk chair probably made by Goodearl & Sons. It has a curved top rail supported by 6 splats set into a solid elm seat. There are also 2 metal strengthening bars supporting the arms which make the chair very solid along with supporting brackets to the underside. The turned legs are supported by an H-cross stretcher. The elm seat has a beautiful swirly wild grain to it. Great patina. To the backside of seat is a mark K. To the underside it reads “Soldiers room beer and serving bar" Dating from circa 1900.
Goodearl & Sons were Furniture makers, of High Wycombe and Princes Risborough. In 1870 by William Goodearl (b.1811) set up in Dovehouse Mead and was later joined by his four sons, to form Goodearl and Sons.

Solid and sturdy. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Good patina to the seat and arms, with some old varnish to the legs. Old marks and stains to the seat commensurate with age. Some old mends to right side of seat
