The Story & Condition In the early 1970s, Seiko introduced the "5 Actus" line as a dynamic, youthful sub-brand designed for a forward-thinking demographic. This specific reference, the 6106-5440, perfectly captures the funky yet robust aesthetic of the era with its unmistakable geometric "TV" case and a striking gradient blue dial. It is powered by the highly regarded 23-jewel caliber 6106 automatic movement. The "SS" designation on the dial stands for "Second Setting," meaning the movement features a hacking function (the second hand stops when the crown is pulled out) for precise time synchronization—a premium feature over standard Actus models.
Staying true to the Nimbus Watches philosophy of transparent and honest history, this piece is presented in excellent, authentic vintage condition. The stainless steel case is a standout, retaining its factory-sharp edges and heavy brushing, proving it hasn't been subjected to aggressive polishing over the decades. The flat, faceted crystal exhibits normal, authentic vintage patina and light wear that tells the story of its age without obstructing the beautiful blue vignette dial beneath it.
