Offered for sale is a genuine Nagaoka MP-500 moving magnet phono cartridge.
This cartridge comes from the estate of a private collector of high-end audio equipment. The collection comprised carefully selected reference components from manufacturers including Nagra, SME, Wilson Audio, Sony Signature, Aurender and others. The equipment was exceptionally well cared for, and much of it saw only limited domestic use.
This MP-500 is virtually unused. The original box has been opened for inspection and test.
We have not been able to locate the stylus guard.
The MP-500 is widely regarded as Nagaoka's flagship moving magnet cartridge and has earned an outstanding reputation for its refined, natural and highly musical sound. Featuring a boron cantilever and a line-contact diamond stylus, it offers exceptional tracking ability, excellent detail retrieval and a smooth, balanced tonal presentation without sounding analytical.
