Short work with excellent references to Puritan works. This author has done much of the work for us, sorting through numerous Puritan works and pointing us toward works that we might find interesting.
The essay serves as a compelling introduction to why reading the Puritans is not just a historical exercise but a spiritually enriching endeavor. It argues that the Puritans offer a model of rigorous thinking, heartfelt devotion, and an unwavering focus on the glory of God. In an age of distractions and surface level engagement, their writings challenge us to think deeply, pray fervently, and live intentionally.
What strucks most is how relevant the Puritans remain today. They understood the human heart with remarkable clarity and addressed issues that still resonate with modern believers: how to mortify sin, pursue godliness, and navigate the trials of life with faith.
