"Journalist Jakob Johannsen and photographer Ole Raffel reproduce here, in collaboration with the royal chefs, a number of recipes from the royal kitchen, which Prince Henrik inspired. These are elegant dishes from official dinners, but especially more ordinary everyday dishes, which the prince has brought with him from the southern French country kitchen, from the East or which he has shaped with his own taste and perception of what good food is. He himself occasionally speaks with opinions about menu compositions, spices, wines, shopping or the fridge's advantages and disadvantages. Some of the approximately 200 recipes for all kinds of dishes require both a hand and a kitchen, which few have, but many of them can easily be made in an ordinary household. Some may be too exotic for most or require ingredients that are difficult to obtain, but most can be used as a variation in everyday life with just as much pleasure as the recipes in many other cookbooks of the time.
