Don Melchor 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is the 29th vintage released to the market since the label was launched in 1987. It is produced from the grapes of Puente Alto Vineyard at the foot of the Andes Mountains and on the oldest terrace of Maipo River, a place considered as one of the best terroirs in the world for Cabernet Sauvignon. 2015 is composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot, and aged for 15 months in French oak barrels.
Don Melchor 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon ticks all the boxes when you talk about Chilean wine. It’s categorized under new world wine, but the way they made it leans towards old world styles, creating a superb wine with delicate textures, mineral notes, and a fruity aroma.
We all love to pair wine with food, and this exceptional wine can be paired with different dishes, depending on your mood. Pair it with either red or white meats like poultry, beef, or lamb. It makes an excellent companion for assorted terrines and pâtés, and dried-aged cheeses will also complement the wine’s flavors.
