Selling a classic Minolta Hi-Matic 7s 35mm film rangefinder camera from the late 1960s. This is a legendary street photography camera known for its incredibly sharp optics and versatile shooting modes (fully automatic, shutter-priority, or full manual control).
Key Features:
• Lens: Premium fixed Minolta Rokkor-PF 45mm f/1.8 (6 elements in 5 groups) — fantastic for low light and beautiful bokeh.
• Metering: Features the Contrast Light Compensator (CLC) system, with the light meter cell uniquely positioned inside the filter ring to automatically adjust for filters.
• Viewfinder: Integrated rangefinder for quick, accurate manual focusing.
Cosmetic & Technical Condition:
• Body: In beautiful vintage condition. The silver finish is clean with minimal signs of wear, and the black textured leatherette wrap is completely intact, tight, and free of peeling.
• Film Chamber: The interior of the camera is remarkably clean. The film pressure plate, sprockets, and take-up spool are all intact and free of debris.
• Lens & Aperture (Important Note): The glass elements are physically intact and clear. However, there is visible oil residue on the aperture blades (clearly visible in the close-up photo). This is a very common issue for vintage cameras where internal lubricants migrate over time. Because the blades may stick due to the oil, the camera is being sold as-is for display, repair, or a CLA (Clean, Lubricate, Adjust) service.
• Accessories: Includes the original black leather Minolta two-piece ever-ready carrying case with neck strap. The case shows authentic vintage patina and cosmetic scuffs/wear on the edges.
