Vintage Carlo Nason “Osso” Table Lamp for Mazzega, 1970s
A striking and highly collectible “Osso” table lamp designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega in the 1970s. Crafted in thick hand-blown Murano glass, this sculptural piece showcases the organic and fluid forms that made Nason one of the most celebrated Italian lighting designers of the era.
The lamp emits a beautiful warm glow and works equally well as mood lighting, bedside lighting, or as a statement design object. Its timeless silhouette blends effortlessly with both modern and vintage interiors.
Carlo Nason, born into a Murano glassmaking family, became renowned for his innovative collaborations with Mazzega during the 1960s and 1970s. His designs combined traditional Venetian glass craftsmanship with bold modernist forms, and many of his pieces are now sought after by collectors worldwide. The Osso model is one of his iconic creations, admired for its soft bone-like shape and elegant simplicity.
Condition:
Good vintage condition overall. There is a chip with a crack at the back near the base, as well as a few small minor nibbles around the foot. These flaws are positioned discreetly and do not detract from the lamp’s striking appearance when displayed. Fitted with a new twisted fabric cord and switch.
A rare opportunity to own an authentic piece of Italian mid-century lighting history.
