Stand: Brugt - men i god stand
The Artist: Frederik Læssøe Smidth (1868–1899)
While "FL" can be a tricky set of initials, the style, the date (1894), and the specific location (Silkeborg) point strongly to Frederik Læssøe Smidth.
• Who he was: A Danish landscape painter who studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the 1880s. He is considered part of the transition from the "Golden Age" to a more naturalistic, moody style.
• The Silkeborg Connection: Smidth was known for painting "en plein air" (outdoors) in the Jutland region, particularly around Silkeborg and the nearby moors.
