A steel manually wound centre seconds wristwatch
Omega launched the Ref. 2496 in 1949 and the serial number of the present watch places this example towards the beginning of the model’s production. The silvered dial has a rich and warm patination to the surface and is unusually set with raised pink gilded Arabic numerals and feuille minute and hour hands – there is also a contrasting blued steel centre seconds. The steel case has attractively, faceted, angled lugs and the case back is slightly domed in order to incorporate the bridge and wheel work for the centre seconds.
This watch is fitted with a vintage Omega black leather strap and steel Omega pin buckle.
