The Story & Condition The Golden Horse was a flagship model for Rado in the late 1950s and 60s, helping establish the brand's reputation for highly durable, water-resistant watches. The case back proudly displays the "Water-Sealed" twin seahorses logo, an emblem of Rado's early innovations in case sealing. This specific reference, the 11675, features a stunning 57-jewel automatic movement—a fun remnant of the Swiss "Jewel Wars" of the 1960s, where brands competed to pack as many jewels into a caliber as possible for prestige.
At Nimbus Watches, we love a watch with an authentic story, and this Rado has aged beautifully. The stainless steel case remains in good, honest condition for its age, showing normal wear without being polished to death. The dial has developed a wonderful, even champagne patina that contrasts beautifully against the iconic red Rado anchor logo at 12 o'clock and the applied twin seahorses above 6 o'clock.
The acrylic crystal is in very good shape, free of heavy damage, and the watch retains its original "R" signed crown. Paired with a period-correct stainless steel bracelet, this watch is running well and offers a ton of vintage Swiss charm in a highly wearable package.
