An exceptional example of the Grand Seiko 5646-7011, produced in January 1973, featuring one of the most sought-after dial configurations from the 56GS series — the green sunburst dial.
Far less common than the standard silver variants, this dial is rarely encountered, particularly in the European market. Under changing light, it reveals a remarkable depth, transitioning from deep forest green to near-black tones — a defining characteristic that sets this reference apart.
The watch is powered by the celebrated Seiko 5646 Hi-Beat movement (28,800 bph), representing Grand Seiko’s pursuit of mechanical precision during its most competitive era.
Condition
Presented in excellent vintage condition.
The case remains well preserved with very light signs of wear, retaining strong lines and defined edges that are often lost on lesser examples.
The dial is particularly impressive, showing rich colour, clarity and uniformity, free from the fading commonly seen on these models.
The watch is fitted with a new cut crystal, enhancing the sharpness of the dial and restoring the crisp, architectural look characteristic of the reference.
The caseback retains its original gold Grand Seiko medallion in excellent condition, with strong definition — a detail often missing or worn on many examples, and highly valued by collectors.
Overall, this is a clean, honest and highly collectible example.
