Stand: Brugt - men i god stand
Title: The Fire in the Borgo (Incendio del Borgo) by Volpato.
Etching in good condition. Large format in beautiful glass frame that needs some repair. Archival paper on back of frame has cracked, but not been opened. Temporary tape added in anticipation of optional restoration.
Size: 87x70
Engraving by Giovanni Volpato (Joannes Volpato - 1733–1803) of original work by Raphael. Delineator (Draftsman for engraving): Bernardinus Nocchi (Bernardino Nocchi)
Inscription / Dedication:
"PIO SEXTO PONT. MAX."
Dedicated to Pope Pius VI (reigned 1775–1799)
Upper Left: “RAPHAEL SANCTIVS PINX.” – Raphael Sanzio painted it
Upper Right: “IN AEDIBVS VATICANIS” – In the Vatican rooms
