1979 Gibson Les Paul "The Paul" Deluxe with original hard case in excellent condition and custom modified by legendary British guitar inventor and luthier Nigel Thornbory. Thornbory is well known for celebrity guitar builds and having invented several models for Guild and Fender, including the radical Ashbory Bass model. This is the more expensive "The Paul" Deluxe, which received a proper Mahogany body and neck instead of awalnut like the normal Firebrand "The Paul" model. It also received a Les Paul Standard pearl Gibson logo on black face overlay instead of the cheaper silk screen logo on bare wood. You also get a rare ebony fretboard with pearl dot inlays. Thornbory appears to have experimented with the body and swapped the original electrics for his beloved Schaller humbuckers (his preferred pickups on many builds) with split coil and push/pull knobs and an expertly finished control cavity. This particular custom build was cherished and retained by Thornbory, having kept it for himself for about 20 years before it came to me.
This is an incredibly unique vintage 70s Les Paul that is a 1 of 1. If you want a guitar that distinguishes your look and sound from what everyone else has, this definitely gets the job done.
