❤️ The story (for those who care)
This bike was my dream fixed gear brand since 2013. I remember being in London later, walking into the BLB store, the only place in Europe where they had Aventon at the time, seeing the Mataro hanging there and knowing I couldn’t afford it.
I finally bought it in 2022 from a fixed gear shop for €1,000, and it delivered everything I hoped for.
On this bike I:
Rode from Copenhagen to the Czech Republic — 945 km in 3 days
Crossed Denmark from Aalborg to Copenhagen — 555 km in 24h 2 min
Had many shorter beautiful rides in Sweden, Jutland and Copenhagen
At that point, I knew the bike had given me what I wanted.
I’ve since owned and built several other fixies and want to reduce my collection.
I planned to keep this one as a winter beater or city cruiser, but I simply can’t treat it badly or leave it locked around the city. Aventon doesn’t make fixies anymore, and this bike deserves to be ridden, not stolen or neglected.
