Varebeskrivelse
Stand: Brugt - men i god stand
Guitartype: Elektriske guitarer
1956 Gibson ES-225T Artist Owned by Martin Barre, lead guitarist of Jethro Tull. Martin's guitar solo on "Aqualung" is recognised as one of the greatest of all time, and his band famously beat Metallica for the 1989 Grammy Award for best rock/metal performance. This guitar has been a treasured part of Martin's collection for decades and has been used to record. Jethro Tull has sold over 60 million records globally, making them one of the most successful prog-rock bands in history. This guitar has been featured in nearly every major guitar publication in the world, as can be seen in the attached photo shoot, where the shot of the guitar next to Martin and all of his gold and platinum records was featured in Guitar World, Guitar Player and Guitarist magazines, most recently for an April 2025 interview. The guitar was due to go up for sale at the world famous Bonhams musical instrument auction in London, but was withdrawn, never being available to the public until now. The guitar comes with a signed letter from Martin Barre highlighting the exceptional recording capabilities of the instrument and his many years of ownership. The guitar is in very good condition with typical marks and signs of aging, but I would say it is rather exceptionally well looked after considering it is 70 years old.
Price is fixed. Collection from Ringkøbing or I can post same day payment is received. It will be packed extremely well with love and care. I am selling off my entire collection, so see my other listings for more rare guitars.
