Varebeskrivelse
Stand: Brugt - men i god stand
1968 Fender Precision Bass artist owned by prolific bassist DeLisle McKenzie Harper since he purchased the bass in San Francisco on June 20th, 1975 at the famous Don Wehr's Music City. Original receipt and UK import paperwork copies included. 1968 transition year Precision Bass with the newly designed headstock logo that came out for the first time in 1968 and continued into the 70's.
Many 1968 model year Fenders have 1966 stamped components. The serial number and neck headstock logo dates to 1968, while the neck is date stamped October 1966 and the original potentiometer is dated 1966 (the other pot was serviced and replaced in 1980). It was originally Sunburst and stripped to Natural, likely selected by Harper to match his Fender Factory Natural 1957 Precision bass I also have available for sale here. This come's with Harper's period correct gig bag and and two additional "ash tray" covers for the bridge and pickup. This bass was owned by the same artist for the 47 years with full provenance. With custom shop prices climbing on brand new models, for little more you can own a historical bass with over half a century of established history.
Harper famously stars in the music video for Stealers Wheel's global mega-hit "Stuck In The Middle With You" which was the song played for the main scene in Quentin Tarantino's debut film "Reservoir Dogs" and is the theme song for the Netflix hit series "Grace & Frankie." Harper performed and recorded with many big artists in the 70's and 80s. He was the bassist and backing vocals for Deep Purple & Whitesnake singer David Coverdale on his solo album White Snake, which led to the creation of Whitesnake. His playing was sampled on the Everlast hit album "Whitey Ford Sings The Blues." Harper was a member of Juicy Lucy alongside Micky Moody - the band had an immediate hit song "Who Do You Love?" He was also a member of Gonzalez and had a chart hit "Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet" where he features in the music video with the other Precision bass of his we have. He was the bass player for American blues guitar legend Freddie King, one of the "three kings" of blues guitar alongside Albert King and B.B. King. Harper was a member of Olympic Runners who had a chart hit "Put The Music Where Your Mouth Is" and did the theme song for the movie "The Bitch" starring Joan Collins.
Price is fixed. Collection from Ringkøbing or I can post same day payment is received. It will be packed extremely well with love and care. I am selling off my entire collection, so see my other listings for more rare guitars.
