ESP King V from 2006 in original spec with original fitted hard case. This is a very rare model made only briefly after Megadeth's Dave Mustaine pulled out of his short endorsement deal with ESP between endorsements with Jackson and Dean guitars. It is the same spec as Dave's DV8 signature guitar, but without his name and 8-ball inlay on it. I spoke with Dave and asked him about this guitar and what happened with him joining ESP after Jackson, only to abruptly leave ESP. He explained that this guitar was created after ESP was forced to pull his likeliness from their Dave Mustaine signature guitars after a breach of contract, where ESP's American leadership had offered a double-neck version of his guitar for sale without notifying him and cutting him in. Dave asked ESP's American leadership why they had an unauthorised model up for sale outside of their contract with him. They claimed the contract didn't expressly say they couldn't do it, and Dave replied that he was happy to end their relationship if that was how they were willing to do business. Thus, we have this Dave Mustaine DV8 in all of the same spec, but without Dave's likeliness attached. It is a very cool piece of history and an extremely well balanced instrument.
