This is a Gibson Les Paul Standard from 1987, conceived just two weeks apart from Jessica. It is the most special guitar I’ve ever had in my hands. It is all original except for the finish: original pickups, pots, frets, and hardware.
The original sin has already been committed, so you don’t need to worry about that decision—it has been refinished to match Slash’s. And I’m being honest here: the work is superb. I tried my best to show the real color in the pictures. I’ll leave the cigarette burn and touring to you, though 😂 Still, the light dings and details give it that perfect worn-in, player-friendly feel. The refinish was done with nitro, with the last two coats having a blend with golden age nitro in order for it to crack quicker.
The neck feels just right (a personal favorite). Some necks have similar dimensions, yet you can tell when one hits a sweet spot. It might have to do with the fact that it has been played long enough. I would describe it as a medium C.
It weighs a solid 4.28 kg.
