On my skin, the blackness moves from Angola, where the colonial era still leaves its mark on family and society, across the Mediterranean to Europe and Copenhagen. Stretched between two geographies, Aaiún Nin writes about being black in the world and about feeling homeless in it. About survival and about trying to live your own life. About sexuality and language as places to be when you have no home. Aaiún Nin writes politically and with anger, courage and hope. It is poetry that shines with talent and protest.
