This rare Famous Grouse 1992 Vintage Malt Whisky was created from the finest whiskies of a single year’s distillation. Each cask individually selected from Scotland’s greatest distilleries, The Macallan, Highland Park and Glenrothes. This forms part of the annual collectors series of Famous Grouse. Distilled in 1987, Bottled in 1999.
Created in 1896 by Mathew Gloag, it was initially called the Grouse Blend but the 'Famous' prefix was added in 1905 after the success of the brand. Owned by the Edrington Group, it is stablemates with Highland Park and Macallan and was awarded the Royal Warrant in 1984. The blenders still work by the same four fundamentals as they always have: foundation (sticking to the Gloag family traditions); finest (keeping up the high quality); flavour (creating aroma through maturation); and fusion (perfecting the ideal blend).
