This is a superb book, in english, on old silver, packed with good information. Most of the silver items are from period 1700-1840.
This book is a First Edition copy of “The Price Guide to Antique Silver”, by Ian Harris, a Director of leading London silver and jewellery dealers, N. Bloom and Son, published by The Antique Collectors’ Club of Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1969.
There is however an updated Price list in the book, updated to 1983!!.see picture 7).
The prices are, of course, now a matter of historical interest only, however, the fine black and white illustrations which form the basis of the book are of lasting value and are a great aid in training the eye of all those who would seek to develop a proper appreciation of old silver.
This book should NOT be underrated, despite its age.
