Key Protection and Control Functions
Overcurrent Protection:
Provides multiple phase, ground, and neutral time and instantaneous overcurrent elements for coordination.
Auto-reclose:
Automatically recloses the circuit after a fault, a common feature in feeder protection.
Breaker Failure:
Detects if a breaker fails to open during a fault and initiates a trip to an adjacent breaker to clear the fault.
Cold Load Pickup Blocking:
Prevents the relay from tripping during the initial inrush of current when a feeder is energized after a period of being de-energized.
Synchrocheck:
Monitors voltage, angle, and frequency for safe reclosing onto a live line.

The GE Multilin 350 is designed with a draw-out construction for ease of testing and maintenance, and it interfaces with current transformers (CTs) and voltage transformers (VTs) to monitor the power system.
