The book titled “KÄRLEK TILL GLAS / LOVE FOR GLASS. Agnes Hellner’s Collection of Orrefors Glass “ was published in Sweden, 1998.
It is a gorgeous book through its focus on a private collection of Orrefors glass, and employs a personalized approach in an attempt to understand the overwhelming success of the Orrefors legacy.
By including manuscripts of Hellner’s own opinions of her collection, as well as critical essays by seven acclaimed art historians, the Orrefors legacy is examined not only in terms of its own success, but also in its role in the history of the Swedish craft industry as a whole.
80 Full page exquisite color photographs show 80 out of the 700 pieces in the collection.
The left side of each double page gives a detailed explanation and information about the glass object shown in glorious colour on the right side.
These fantastic pictures makes the book a feast for the eye as well as the mind.

Picture 15 shows the original “card” includes with the publishing of the book.
The last 80 pages show all 700 glas pieces in small Black/white pictures with information on glass artist, production dates etc under each picture.

På Parisudstillingen i 1925 fik svensk kunstglas sit store internationale gennembrud. Gralsglasset og graveret glas lagde grunden til Orrefors' verdensomspændende ry med kunstnere som Edward Hald og Simon Gate.
Love for Glass præsenterer en storslået privatsamling med 700 glasstykker fra Orrefors and Sandvik glasværker, der primært afspejler de innovative 1910'ere-30'ere. I de indledende kapitler får vi et indblik i udviklingen af glasfremstilling i de første pionerår og en baggrund for kollektionens tilblivelse.
