Laura Segartori graduated with honors in scenography in Rome and initially worked as a set decorator on various theater and television productions. This activity gave her the productive painting skills for her artwork. She developed a sensitivity for the female figure, which she portrays in all its facets, revealing both her strength and her great fragility, using the aid of sand and resin. Resin symbolizes water, a vital element that protects us from the womb, yet sometimes suffocates us: frozen lava, which fossilizes and freezes the present moment. Her works, created exclusively in oils, are from the "Bad Girl" and "Bad Boy" series, which depict a strong, transgressive, and sensual woman/man. Now a television set designer, she maintains her love for design, blended with emotion, which she seeks to express in all fields.
