Many myths and stories surround the creation of the original Acapulco Chair. The most popular is that a French tourist wanted to build a chair and hammock mix in the 1950s. A story that we personally don't necessarily want to believe. The fact is that the beginnings of the original Acapulco chair are subordinate to this period. A time when Acapulco was a jet set destination for American celebrities. A time when air travel was very exclusive and expensive. Elvis was there regularly, Brigitte Bardot probably too, as were Frank Sinatra and the Kennedys.
