About the H-Boat
The H-boat was designed in 1967 by the Finnish-Swedish yacht designer Hans Groop and is one of the most successful keelboat classes in the world. The name is derived from the first letter of his first name. The aim was to create a boat that combined the best features of the shark boat and the folk boat, but with the elegant lines of dragons and skerry cruisers.

With over 5,300 units built, the H-Boat is one of the largest keelboat classes in Europe and the second largest in the world. It has been built as a standard class by various shipyards, including Artekno OY (Finland), since 1967.
The H-boat is both a powerful regatta boat and a safe and good-natured family and touring boat. Thanks to its slim hull and high build quality, it sails particularly well upwind and remains stable even in strong winds. A remarkable example of its seaworthiness is the successful crossing of the Atlantic in 2001.
