Beskrivelse
Baltic, årg. 1988, skrogmateriale Glasfiber-armeret plast, Diesel, hjemhavn Fehmarn (Tyskland), Judel/Vrolijk designed Baltic 43 with vacuum-infused epoxy hull and deck and epoxy/carbon rudder. An iconic design that can do it all, from crossing oceans to sailing around the buoys. Few are built better.
DIVA is a very special example of the Judel Volijk & R J Designs Baltic 43.
She was built in 1988 as hull no. 28 for a Hamburg couple who used her almost exclusively for daysailing. DIVA was built with the optional vacuum-infused epoxy hull and deck, which saves about 300 kg compared to a standard Baltic 43. She also received a custom epoxy performance rudder with carbon fiber rudder stock, Reckmann rig and a custom interior with two cabins, two heads compartments and a saloon with u-shaped seating to port.
After the DIVA was used very little by her first owners, she was sold in 2010 to her second owner, who is also based in Hamburg and spends the summer sailing in the southern Baltic Sea.
in the southern Baltic Sea and stored the boat ashore and under cover every winter.
The interior is largely original and in good condition thanks to the minimal use, winter storage and loving care. The deck, windows, navigation, headsail, genoa rails, traveler and mainsheet system, deck cleats, 5 large sheet winches in the cockpit and some other fittings and running rigging were renewed in the winter of 2023/24. The deck was covered with HLF, a teak-look thermoplastic from a German manufacturer. This makes DIVA a unique opportunity to acquire a partially refurbished and modernized "modern classic". DIVA is ready to sail, just as she is.
Specification highlights:
Vacuum-infused epoxy hull and deck construction (approx. 300 kg less than the standard GRP construction of the Baltic 43)
Speedwave-Mag epoxy rudder with carbon shaft
Custom 2-cabin, saloon layout with U-shaped seating
Teak interior joinery in neat condition
Eberspacher diesel cabin heating
Electric aft toilet with holding tank
B&G instruments
Icom VHF
Stainless steel standing rigging (rod), replaced in 2011
Reckman rig with low-friction Antal mast track
Hydraulics for backstay, kicker and foot, new hydraulic hose in 2023
5 self-tailing 2-speed Harken winches in the cockpit For genoa, spinnaker and mainsheet
4 symmetrical spinnakers
Old genoa 1
Genoa 2 and cutter jib from Faber Muncker (2024)
New cutter stay and baby stay, Dyneema (2024)
B&G Zeus 3S plotter (2022)
2 B&G Triton displays in the cockpit (2024)
B&G Wireless Wind Transducer and Echo (2024)
About the manufacturer "Baltic"
Baltic 43 was the second production model for which they collaborated with Judel/Vrolijk as naval architects. At the time, Judel/Vrolijk were successful in the regatta
regatta scene with yachts of a similar size, including Admiral Cup contenders such as Container.
Container.
In the development of the Baltic 43, the experience gained from these successful racing projects was combined with Baltic Yachts' well-known skills in building lightweight constructions.
combined. Detailed weight studies were carried out to achieve a light,
yet realistic and achievable displacement.
The styling, deck and interior layout were designed by Baltic's own designers. The Baltic 43 allowed for greater flexibility in floor plans, giving customers the opportunity to customize their yacht. Here we have a double cabin with wet room forward and a spacious owner's double cabin aft, also with its own wet room. Overall, the ship is equipped with plenty of storage space.
Construction:
RCD status: We assume that the yacht is exempt from CE certification as it was in use in the EEA before June 1998.
Construction of hull, deck and superstructure:
Vacuum infused epoxy resin hull and deck to the highest specifications to create an extremely rigid yet lightweight and well insulated structure. All high-stress areas are specially reinforced to absorb localized loads.
White topsides: The deck is bonded to the hu...
