Broadblue, årg. 2005, skrogmateriale Glasfiber-armeret plast, Diesel, hjemhavn Lübeck (Tyskland), This Broadblue 385 was designed as an owner's version with three double cabins and two bathrooms.
The owner's cabin with a large bathroom and shower is located in the port hull. Two further double cabins are located in the starboard hull with their own bathroom. All cabins and the owner's bathroom are equipped with 220 volt sockets. Large cupboards with interior lighting were retrofitted in both hulls in 2018 to provide additional storage space.
The refrigerator, gas stove and oven were replaced with new appliances in 2024.
All mattresses were replaced in 2020.
The cake stand for the cockpit was also redesigned in 2018. It can be completely closed, providing additional protection and safety in bad weather. There is sun protection for all windows in the saloon.
All lines run together in the cockpit, which makes it easy to sail single-handed. The mooring and casting off maneuvers can also be carried out by one person.
The hull construction is designed for blue water cruising and has been certified for worldwide cruising. The keels are additionally reinforced to prevent the boat from falling dry. The rudders are protected against flotsam, for example, by stable skegs and the keels have been sealed for buoyancy. Each hull has watertight buoyancy chambers. The Broadblue 385 has a high torsional rigidity.
This rigidity means that there is no disturbing noise from the interior fittings when sailing.
Broadblue catamarans are considered safe and robust because of these properties.
