Beautiful, elegant, lovingly maintained Athena34, built in the Swedish Poseidon shipyard.
Thanks to her classic hull shape, she offers a headroom of 1.75m.
The boat sails incredibly well and with a beam of 2.90 she achieves a yardstick of 99!
It is often enough just to unroll the stern to outrun other boats. All lines are led into the cockpit and when sailing single-handed, a car helmet supports the tiller pilot. Relatively well-preserved sails and backstays make the Athena a small racing goat. Relaxed family sailing is also possible.
It's simply cozy below deck! A wooden ambience, attractive lighting and classic Swedish boat building speak for themselves. You can sleep in the bow (2 children), on the fold-down saloon benches or in the huge dog bunk on a new cold foam mattress.
An electric cool box and an insulated compartment built into the galley (ice cubes or ice packs inside) ensure cool drinks. The 2-burner kerosene stove (Optimus W155) provides hot food. A diesel heater (Eberspächer D2L) is on board for the cooler days. A spray that has just been dry-cleaned and repaired by the sailmaker and a as-new, barely used cake stand provide more living space. A new pump toilet with 50L aluminum tank and sliding door is available. Foot pump for the sink in the pantry and in the toilet room.
About 17 years ago the rigging incl. mast and sails were renewed. The engine was overhauled in 2006, little used and runs perfectly! The Saildrive sleeve is 8 years old and the battery bank (AGM) was renewed in 2017 (Sterling L2B charger). The Saildrive itself was also replaced by the previous owner.
In 2019, the underwater hull was stripped down to the gelcoat and sealed with new osmosis protection. The keel joint was renewed and the underwater hull was sanded and repainted every year. The rudder was removed in May, checked for moisture and treated with epoxy primer.
The rudder bearings and rudder cokers were renewed, reinforced and sealed. Nothing wobbles and the boat sails absolutely dry.

The Athena is still in the hall in Bad Schwartau (Teerhofinsel). The final minor work will be completed before she is launched into the water and rigged. She can therefore be taken over ready to sail with Pütt un Pann.
The boat was first owned from 1983 to 2020 before I took it over in 2020. Many documents, documents, spare parts, suitable tools etc. are available. Various sails and spare sails are available if interested. A lot of time and money was invested in the boat. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to take care of it now, so I want to pass it on to loving hands.
The boat is very solidly built and has a lot of potential if you are prepared to put some work into it. It is in a good and well-maintained condition.
