The Bloemsma sailing boat "Escargot", type GOUWZEE 1, made of steel, is now for sale.
It is powered by a Volvo Penta 17 hp.
Although the sailboat was built in 1972, it was completely renovated between 2002 and 2006. The boat was completely disassembled, all parts dismantled and repainted inside and out. The outer skin was blasted and cold galvanized in the underwater area and primed several times with tar epoxy and barrier primer. The boat was completely re-insulated, all interior fittings renewed, the entire electrical system rewired, various lights, the entire switch box and the 220 V power supply renewed and the entire upholstery renewed. The engine (built in 1982) and the gearbox underwent a thorough inspection, various seals were replaced and the seawater pump was completely overhauled. Interior fittings such as the sink, electric stove, gas stove etc. were replaced with new parts. The superstructure was reinforced with epoxy resin and fiberglass, all masts and spars were carefully cleaned, inspected, repaired where necessary and coated with Coelann. All shrouds and stays were thoroughly checked and damaged parts replaced. The rudder was overhauled, the rudder shaft replaced and a gas-tight container with non-closable ventilation to the outside fitted.

Various sails, including mainsail, jib, genoa, mizzen sail, furling jib system and others, are included in the scope of delivery and are still in good condition.

The antifouling has been renewed annually, most recently in May 2023. Since winter storage in 2022/2023, the boat is no longer in the water, but on land (summer storage) and can be viewed at an agreed time.
The berth is located in Hamburg Finkenwerder with direct access to the Elbe. The mooring fee is paid until October 2025.
