Beskrivelse
Spending your summer vacation on your own boat? Make this dream come true in 2025!
Our "Dream of Freedom" has taken us on many unforgettable trips through Germany, Holland and France: we have explored the Rhine, Moselle, Lahn, Danube, Elbe, Trave, Mittellandkanal, Mecklenburg Lake District and many other bodies of water with her, and apart from a short trip to the Baltic Sea, she has only been sailed in fresh water since we have owned her. She can be steered from the outside steering position as well as from the inside. She is driven by a water-lubricated shaft, a bow steel rudder and a Becker rudder make maneuvering easier. The machine, a Hanomag, runs reliably and has a 17-page parts list. Clearance height with carrier 4.30m, but can be folded down to 3.70m or 3.30m. An ICOMM radio is also installed.
The previous owner had the davits removed and brackets for folding bicycles fitted instead, which is very practical.
Antifouling was renewed in 2025,
You can sit and eat comfortably on the aft deck, even in bad weather since the new tarpaulin was fitted in August 2024. The bathing platform with ladder allows you to freshen up in the water if necessary.
There is an L-shaped couch in the saloon, which can also be used as a sleeping area at night if necessary and can be used as storage space for a barbecue, provisions and the like.
From the saloon, you can either climb a few steps into the owner's cabin (berth with 2 x 70x200 cm mattresses, storage space in the wardrobe and under the bed) with adjoining bathroom (electric toilet, renewed in 2021) or also take a few steps into the galley with dinette. A 3-burner gas stove, fridge with freezer compartment and sufficient storage space for crockery and provisions ensure that the love that goes through the stomach is not neglected on the road. The dinette is more than adequate for 2 people, but it is better to sit in the saloon or on deck with guests.
The bow cabin is used as storage space, but could certainly be used for other purposes. As there have already been some interested parties with the idea of using the bow cabin as an additional sleeping place, I would like to mention at this point that the Dream of Freedom would prefer to be used by two people. Guests on board yes - in our opinion she is not suitable as a family boat with 3 or even 4 people.
We are selling our "Dream of Freedom" with a heavy heart. Our original plan was to live on the boat permanently when we retired. After 7 seasons, however, we now know that we need a bit more space for "permanent" living. We are therefore aiming for a change in this direction, especially as the freedom we long for in terms of time is almost within our grasp.
As long as the Dream of Freedom is in our possession, it will continue to be used and well looked after. We will be happy to send you more photos or arrange a viewing on request.
As you can't just whizz across Germany in 2 weeks with a steel displacer, our "water camper" is relatively centrally located in the Salzgitter branch canal. From there, Hamburg, Berlin waters, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea can be reached relatively quickly.
A viewing appointment must therefore be planned by us and can also take place at another location if we are on vacation.
