Bavaria 32 Holiday

Bavaria, årg. 1996, skrogmateriale Glasfiber-armeret plast, Diesel, hjemhavn Wector Marina, Stathelle, Telemark, Norway (Norge), This is a Bavaria from before mass production began. It’s said to have very high-quality hull and interior. Some maintenance and update required.

Positiv:
New and well-maintained mainsail from Elvstrøm. Very durable sailcloth.
Fairly new furling genoa from Aker Seil
Most of the ropes/lines are relatively new
Winter storage cradle (ILAS)
New service batteries installed in 2022
The Volvo workshop at Wector Yachting carried out service over the winter on the drive, engine, replaced the exhaust elbow, impeller, etc. Test-driven and everything works fine. No overheating.
Keel sanded down where there was some flaking, immediately primed with Brunox anti-rust, epoxy filler used where needed and 2 coats of primer.

To do list:
- Boom cover/ "lazy jack" should be replaced - approx € 1100,- (quote from Hovdan- I can order if wanted? )
- Sprayhood is somewhat worn and should be replaced eventually € 1300 incl. VAT (quote from Hovdan- I can order if wanted? )
- Refrigerator doesn’t work – possibly an electrical fault? New compressor costs about €600
- Interior downlights are not working (the large rotating lamps do work). Likely a simple fix for an electrician
- Manual toilet pump leaks slightly – likely an easy DIY replacement. Will try and fix this soon.
- Cushion covers should be washed and zipper replaced. I will try and fix this this in the summer.
- Wind gauge and instruments are not working – would recommend investing in a new system? although repair surely might be possible.
- Autopilot (Raymarine ST4000 Plus Wheel Autopilot System) – wheel motor not working. Can be found on eBay or bought new for around NOK 8,000 (control unit is installed in the console – see photos)
- Some scratches here and there from fenders , but hull generally looks good been polished and waxed
- Teak on benches is glued-on type and has started to come loose in some areas. I would recommend eventually replacing it with synthetic teak, but the current one can be re-glued
- Some of the wood interior could benefit from some sanding and re-varnishing
- Motorized aft anchor winch is not working – likely an electrical issue
- Cockpit table is old – probably easiest to buy a new one. Around € 500
