This floating vacation home is a water sports enthusiast's dream come true: your own boat right next to the house in a fantastic water sports area: the Baltic Sea and the 42 km long Schlei estuary. The port of Olpenitz is a former naval port that has had a tourism and water sports destination since 2009: the Baltic Sea resort of Olpenitz. The 7 meter deep harbour is even suitable for larger yachts with a deep draft and is safe to enter under all circumstances. The floating houses are also very safe in this harbor basin: our house even survived the 2023 century storm surge without any problems. The harbor area is surrounded by beaches, hilly fields with lots of wildlife, the Schlei and the small village of Olpenitz, a district of Kappeln. In Kappeln an der Schlei you will find a large selection of terraces, restaurants, shops, where you can also get all the products and services you might need as a water sports enthusiast.
If you cast off from the house, you have almost endless possibilities to sail to beautiful harbors, islands and anchor spots in German and Danish waters - the Danish South Sea is just around the corner.
The floating houses are so cleverly designed that, although there are several of them in the immediate vicinity, there is always plenty of space and privacy. The houses have a façade made of maintenance-free Hardie planks and the terraces are made of durable Bankirai wood. Modern architecture is paired with stylish, purist interior design and a Scandinavian touch. The entrance and hallway lead to the bathroom, sauna and 2 bedrooms. The smaller bedroom has 2 single beds and the larger one has a double bed with a direct view of the water and direct access to its own jetty with swimming ladder. Imagine waking up in the morning and seeing the rising sun glistening on the water, or relaxing in the Finnish sauna and then taking a few steps to cool off in the Baltic Sea water, whether it's summer or winter. The large harbour area with a depth of 7 meters guarantees good water quality, and as a result there is a lot of swimming and swimming here.
On the 1st floor there is a tasteful and comfortable living/dining room with an open kitchen. The lighting is dimmable to create a cozy atmosphere. A large glass front with sliding door leads to a terrace with tea table, comfortable chairs and barbecue. A staircase leads to the 30 m2 roof terrace with a fantastic 360 degree view, luxurious lounge furniture and a beach chair. Here you can enjoy the sun and marvel as dozens of ships pass by, virtually in parade, from the Schlei to the Baltic Sea and back. Or how about a romantic sunset with a drink in a beach chair?
The Baltic Sea resort has a good bakery, an Edeka supermarket, terraces, a beach bar right by the harbor basin and delicious food in the bistro, at the food trucks or the Italian restaurant - all within walking distance.
The houses in the Baltic Sea resort have a vacation destination, for own use and/or rental. Our house is currently used exclusively for vacation rentals. Bookings, cleaning and additional services are professionally provided by a local vacation home agency. The customer reviews are without exception very good.
The floating houses have partly shared facilities for water, sewage, electricity, access road, main jetties, etc. ...
