Aage Backhausen was born in Denmark in 1908. From a small village he spent a great deal of time out in nature. His strong brush strokes and use of paint brought to life his paintings. He loved to paint the ocean and crashing waves and still life. His village scenes usually with a pathway through some cobble stone street. Always with the hint of the ocean off in the distance, or a boat dock with resting boats ready to begin a new day. These colorful works always are filled with energy. He passed away in 1966. He was 58 years old.
