Keramik, Lille vase, gyldenbrun/mørk lustre, mrkt. 1028/10, West Germany / Ilkra, ca. 10 cm høj.
Fin lille vase fra West Germany-firmaet Ilkra. Matte glasurer udenpå, blank/mørk inderglasur. Mærket under bund med nummer.
God stand, dog nogle hårrevner samt et 1mm glasurafslag på topkant et sted.

"Ilkra Edelkeramik J.L. Knödgen.
The concern has been founded in 1892 by Jacob Leopold Knödgen and was established in Ransbach-Baumbach. At the time its name was ´Erste Ransbacher Feinsteinzeug Fabrik J.L. Knödgen´. It manufactured typically ´Westerwalder´ products like beer tankards, wine jugs and dishes. In the inter bellum the production switched to everyday use ceramics. Richard Knödgen took over the business.
From this time until 1965 the acronym 'Ilkra' was used. Both spellings 'Ilkra' and 'Jlkra' are documented and stand for Jacob Leopold Knödgen in Ransbach.
After WW II the production of decorative ceramics was resumed and the production range was further extended. Especially after 1955 vases were produced with a striking shape and glaze. Designers from that time were Ernst Werner, Richard Knödgen´s son-in-law, Josef Koch and Edmund Peter. Richard Knödgen died in 1969 and his son Leo took over the business.
Towards the end of the 60s the demand for decorative ceramics decreased and the concern switched to the manufacture of flower pots.
?In 1995 the concern closed its doors.
Ilkra also produced special series of vases for Riffarth.
