Schilder is a preacher of Christ and his sufferings who has few equals. He is right up there with Chrysostom and Calvin in his loving and sensitive description of the Savior's sacrifice for us on Calvary - a sacrifice given not just on calvary but in the entire duration of his incarnation on earth. As that incarnation continues in Heaven, the visible wounds compel the Father to forgive us and the Spirit to sanctify us. Schilder impresses this upon the mind and heart of all who study him with profound theological insight and fully orthodox emphases at every turn in his logic.

Om forfatteren:
Klaas Schilder (1890–1952) was a prominent Dutch Reformed theologian in the early twentieth century, first as a pastor and then as a professor. While his fame spread to North America in the 1940s, he is mostly forgotten today.
Working in the tradition of Abraham Kuyper and Herman Bavinck, Schilder applies Dutch Neo-Calvinism to the twentieth century.
