Varebeskrivelse

An exquisite pair of mid-century Asian sculptures depicting royal ceremonial elephants (Chang Suek). Cast with traditional ornamentation, the matching figures are rendered in a rich verdigris green patina punctuated by gilded decorative trappings, including detailed howdah saddle blankets, beaded accents, anklets, and head regalia. Both elephants are modeled in advantageous postures with trunks raised high, an enduring cultural symbol of good fortune, royalty, and prosperity.
Executed in solid cast bronze using traditional casting techniques, the pair exhibits intentional patination along with subtle surface wear to the underlying metal, adding authentic vintage character. A classic set of mid-20th-century Asian metalwork.
