Omega Genève Automatic “Turquoise Stone” – Cal. 1481 – Ref. 166.0099
The Omega Genève Ref. 166.0099 comes from the early 1970s, a period when Omega was moving toward the cleaner, more angular case designs that would define much of the decade. Rather than the more traditional rounded Genève watches of the 1960s, this reference uses a broad stainless-steel case with strong shoulders and a distinctly period appearance.
Inside is the Omega Calibre 1481, an automatic movement with central seconds and date indication. The combination of the practical automatic movement, relatively substantial case and straightforward Genève styling made watches from this generation versatile everyday Omegas, while today their unmistakable 1970s proportions give them considerable vintage character.
