For sale is a Burns Flyte, one of the most distinctive and collectible British guitars of the 1970s.
Introduced by Burns UK in 1974, the Flyte was originally conceived under the name “Conchorde”, inspired by the revolutionary supersonic Concorde aircraft. Its unmistakable swept-wing body and pointed headstock made it one of the most futuristic guitar designs of the Glam Rock era.
The Flyte was produced in the UK from approximately 1974 to 1977, making surviving original examples increasingly sought after by collectors of British vintage guitars. (Vintage Guitar® magazine)

A TRUE GLAM ROCK ICON
The Burns Flyte became closely associated with the British Glam Rock scene.
Marc Bolan – T. Rex famously used a Burns Flyte, and the instrument is documented among his guitars. (Equipboard)
Dave Hill – Slade was also associated with the Flyte; contemporary and specialist sources document Burns Flyte instruments supplied to Hill and Slade. (Perseverance Site)
Lita Ford – The Runaways was photographed playing a red Burns Flyte during a 1977 television performance. (Equipboard)
Contemporary British music press also reported Mark Griffiths, guitarist for David Essex, playing a Burns Flyte on Top of the Pops in the mid-1970s. (World Radio History)
The model was therefore very much part of the visual and musical identity of the 1970s Glam Rock era.
COLLECTOR’S GUITAR
