Unearthed er en boks med 5 CDer fra Johnny Cash. Den blev udgivet af American Recordings den 25. november 2003, to måneder efter Cashs død. Albummet blev samlet af Cash og Rick Rubin, som også producerede sættet.
De første tre diske indeholder outtakes og alternative versioner af sange indspillet til American Recordings serien, American II: Unchained, American III: Solitary Man og American IV: The Man Comes Around. Den fjerde disk, My Mother's Hymn Book, indeholder gospelsange, som Cash først lærte af sin mor som barn og senere blev genudgivet som et selvstændigt album i 2004. Den sidste disk er en best-of-destillation af de første fire amerikanske albums.
Mange af de sange, Cash indspillede under de amerikanske sessioner, var opdaterede versioner af sange, han tidligere havde indspillet.
"Long Black Veil" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album Orange Blossom Special fra 1965.
"Flesh and Blood" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til soundtracket til filmen I Walk the Line fra 1970.
"Understand Your Man" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album I Walk the Line fra 1964.
"Banks of the Ohio" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash med Carter-familien til albummet Keep on the Sunny Side fra 1964.
"The Caretaker" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album Songs of Our Soil fra 1959.
"Old Chunk of Coal" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album A Believer Sings the Truth fra 1979.
"I'm Going to Memphis" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album Ride This Train fra 1960.
"Waiting for the Train" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album Blood, Sweat and Tears fra 1963.
"No Earthly Good" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album The Rambler fra 1976.
"The Fourth Man in the Fire" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album The Holy Land fra 1969.
"Dark as a Dungeon" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash som B-side til hans single "Understand Your Man" fra 1964.
"I'm Moving On" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash i 1984 som en duet med Waylon Jennings. Denne version ville ikke blive udgivet før 2014 på Out Among the Stars.
"As Long as the Grass Shall Grow" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album Bitter Tears: Ballads of the American Indian fra 1964.
"Devil's Right Hand" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash med Highwaymen til albummet The Road Goes on Forever fra 1995.
"The L & N Don't Stop Here Anymore" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album Silver fra 1979.
"Father and Son" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash som "Father and Daughter" til hans album fra 1974, The Junkie and the Juicehead Minus Me.
"When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album fra 1975, Johnny Cash Sings Precious Memories.
"If We Never Meet Again This Side of Heaven" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album fra 1962, Hymns from the Heart.
"Let the Lower Lights Be Burning" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album fra 1962, Hymns from the Heart.
"When He Reached Down His Hand for Me" blev tidligere indspillet af Cash til hans album fra 1962, Hymns from the Heart.
