Authentic antique Scandinavian mangle board (mangeltræ) with its matching original wooden roller (mangelpind). Features a classic hand-carved horse handle and surviving original hand-painted folk art details (red geometric borders and rosette motifs).
Historically crafted as courtship gifts or love tokens, these were pressed over linen wrapped around the roller to press out wrinkles long before electric irons existed. It makes a striking piece of Nordic folk art decor for a wall display or rustic interior.
