Historie:
"The Gibson J-160E was introduced in the early 1950s as part of Gibson's Jumbo series, combining a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides. The "E" in the model name stands for "Electric," as this guitar featured a single-coil pickup, making it one of the first commercially available acoustic-electric guitars.
In 1962, John Lennon and George Harrison of The Beatles purchased a pair of Gibson J-160E guitars while the band was in Hamburg, Germany. These guitars were used extensively during the recording sessions of the early Beatles albums, including "Please Please Me" and "With The Beatles." The distinctive sound of the J-160E became a hallmark of The Beatles' early recordings.
The significance of the Gibson J-160E Sunburst from 1954-55 lies not only in its design and craftsmanship but also in its association with The Beatles and the role it played in shaping the band's early sound. The model has since become a sought-after collector's item and holds historical value in the world of vintage guitars."
