If you are looking for a Vintage steel bike that stands out from the rest and works flawlessly then this mechanically minted mid nineties steel racer is for you.
The original owner, having lived and studied in Britain, brought back his bike to Denmark before kindly passing it on to me a few decades later.
60cm seat tube center of crank to top. Reynolds 531 tubing. Mavic rims on Shimano Exage hubs. Shimano Exage throughout. Shifts, rides and stops beautifully. Grepp bar wrap (no glue, can be removed, washed and reused) Finished with twine. New Shimano SLR hoods. New cassette. Original 52 - 40 Shimano chain rings. 2x7 gearing. Schwalbe Delta Cruiser 700 x 28c tires. City pedals.
Bike has had a full nut and bolt restoration, the wheel set is rebuilt, including the freehub body, a new headset, so mechanically it is back to day zero. Paint has been cut and polished, surface rust removed, some bare metal around the rear stays / bottom bracket, seat tube clamp. Slightly wobbly decals in places add character. Overall presents beautifully, turns heads and gets compliments.

Ps. For further nerding read on. Rear axel spacing is 130mm, likely one can run up to a ten speed with shifters on friction. Bottom bracket is English threading, swap to HollowTech2 if ya fancy? It has a SunRace derailleur hanger extender fitted to allow the 32t large sprocket with original derailleur, which will accept up to a 36t whilst keeping period parts. The Frame set has the potential to run fairly modern stuff without cold setting the rear end. The Claud Butler Criterium is one of the last models “made in England” and represents the end of that era.
