For sale, an exceptional German double bass, circa 1930. This instrument is a fully carved, flat-back, 3/4 size gamba model, featuring a D neck and a 104.5 cm string length, originating from the Geister workshop in Germany's Harz region. A partial label is present internally. This instrument previously belonged to the Schwerin Conservatory, a historic music school and conservatory located in the capital city of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The double bass is in outstanding and original condition, except for the tailpiece; the original tailpiece is also available. It is immediately ready for play and requires no repairs or fingerboard planing.
The bass comes with adjustable wheels on the bridge and a nice 25mm padded gig bag.
