In ancient Khmer society, daily live was impregnated with Bhuddhist and Hindu religious practises.
During the 13th century hinduism was in decline after centuries of dominance and by the 14th century, the royal family's conversion to Theravada Buddhism marked the gradual decline of Hinduism as the state religion.
