DESCRIPTION
A Southeast Asian cast gilt bronze standing Buddha, most likely Thailand or Burma, dating to the late 19th century, depicted in royal or crowned form with a tall tiered finial, elongated earlobes, and a richly detailed court-style costume with patterned surfaces and flowing side panels, the figure standing upright on an integral tiered pedestal with traces of original red lacquer and gilding. The surface shows extensive age-related wear with blackened lacquer, rubbed gilding, and softening to the facial features consistent with long-term devotional handling and shrine use.
