Marimekko Oiva Finnair KOPPELO coffee cups without handle / latte cups
The term Koppelo refers to the female capercaillie in English. What a cheerful pattern! The pattern features stylized natural forms. The story tells that Maija Isola created the pattern in Marimekko’s print factory, where she spent many evenings and nights by painting gentle, sweeping brushstrokes to the sway of music. On one of those nights, Koppelo saw daylight.
The set includes two Oiva coffee cups without handles (latte cups). The form of Oiva was created by Sami Ruotsalainen. The pattern was designed by Maija Isola in 1961. The cups were jointly produced by Marimekko and Finnair
